For the past several months, we’ve been blessed to sit down and share The Teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad with this brother in one of the apartment complexes we go door-to-door in. When we first met him, he wasn’t interested in hearing what we had to say at all but we politely thanked him and said, “God bless.” The next time he decided to give us a chance and when we sat down he was surrounded by multiple liquor bottles and about six packs of cigarettes. Since then, every week he’s been reading the Final Call Newspaper and eager to talk with us when he sees us. Today, when we saw him he didn’t have any liquor bottles around him and only one cigarette behind his ear. We told him we were proud of him and with a smile he said, “I’ve been trying real hard to master all of that.” I said, “You DOING IT!” …. Praise be to Allah!!! This is why we don’t judge our people, just uplift them!!
