Children like to test you. When you tell them not to do something, they go ahead and do it to see if you will actually punish them. They test you to see if your threats have action behind them, or are they just that, threats. They test your limit to see how far they can go without getting in trouble or getting caught. It’s all a challenge, a test. Children know when something they do something wrong.
The nations of the earth are like children. We try to test God. We do the opposite of what he said do. God said want for your brother what you want for yourself. What do we do? We say, “I don’t want you to rise,” and expect ourselves to rise. Why should you rise in any kind of state or level if you don’t want your brother and/or sister to rise also? God said do unto others what you want to have done unto you. What do we do? We shoot others down in cold blood, and expect to live a good life after that. If you want to shoot another valuable human being down, why should you get to continue living? God condemns homosexual behavior. What do we do? We justify our actions and say,“I was BORN this way.” God condemns smoking and drinking. What do we do? We say, “Everybody in the club getting tipsy!” God condemns the adulterous life. What do we do? We say, “I’m bout to tap that!” God said thou shalt not steal. What do we do? We ask, “Where’s the safe?”
We test God in our everyday lives. We’re constantly testing him. Now, it’s not wrong to question God with the intent to get and do better, but what are you to gain from doing something you know is wrong in the eyesight of God? What are you to gain from testing God’s limit? While God extends more and more mercy on us, we do more and more bad. He doesn’t keep extending his mercy on a person that has no intentions of bettering themselves and their lives. God doesn’t make empty threats. If he lets you know what the consequences of continuing to do wrong and continuing reject him and his messenger are, then you better believe he will carry out those consequences. Most of the hell in our lives we bring to ourselves.
Why do we continue to act like children? If you know right from wrong, then you should practice what you know. If you teach good and bad, you should live the life of good. If you preach the word of Jesus, you should live the life that Jesus lived. If you don’t practice what you know, live the life of good, and live the life that Jesus lived, then you are a hypocrite. What is a hypocrite? A hypocrite is a person who claims to believe one thing, but whose thoughts and actions are the complete opposite. In the Qur’an, it says that hypocrites will be in the lowest depth of the fire that is promised to this current world. All throughout The Time and What Must be Done, Farrakhan explains how this is the time for separation and the weeding out of the kingdom of God. The hypocrites and the disbelievers will have to be separated from the believers. Think about these questions, “Do I want to be found amongst the hypocrites and disbelievers and perish in the fire, or do I want to be found amongst the believers and possibly live to see the ushering in of the kingdom of God? Do I want to continue to test God’s limit and ultimately suffer the consequences of doing wrong, or do I want to stop acting like a child and live by his word and his way and ultimately be awarded with blessings?” You’re now in the valley of decision. I pray you make the right choice.
