Ebony S. Muhammad (EM): You are a public relations expert in the entertainment industry, CEO of Arian Simone Enterprise, the Publisher of FEARLESS magazine, Founder and Executive Director of a non-profit organization, Live Your Dreams and the list continues. You are certainly no stranger to success; however, I read that at one point in your life journey you were homeless.
What was that experience like for you? What about that moment in time had the most impact on you to this day?
Arian Simone (AS): My biggest struggle was me experiencing, what I thought failure was. I had always had everything, I never went without, I was always popular, an over achiever, and very successful. So to experience such a dramatic change was devastating, but I do learn how to “dance in the rain.” I snuck into the BET Awards during this time and had a blast!
The moment in time that had the most impact on me to this day, was when I had to surrender, I just said Lord I give up. I surrendered out of what I considered to be force, because I knew of nothing else to do. Now that I am more spiritually mature, I surrender out of choice, and knowing that surrendering is a continual state.
EM: Your philosophy is to be Fearless and Live Your Dreams, yet, so many are doing just the opposite. What is your #1 tip or strategy that you use when you encounter some form of fear to overcome it?
AS: My #1 tip would be to replace every negative thought with a positive thought, something is going to occupy your mind, and if you have the control to choose what it is, then replace those fearful thoughts and create positive thoughts.
EM: Some may see your work as glamorous and easy. What type of work ethic is required in doing for self while serving others on the level you do? How do you avoid burnout? How important is the support of family and friends in what you do?
AS: Yes, some do see my work as glamorous and I always explain that most of it is done on the computer. A disciplined work ethic is required for all those who are business owners and self-employed. It’s the discipline and structure that puts systems in place for you to take on more. I avoid burnout, my keeping a balanced life, eating well balanced meals, working out, doing things outside of work. The support of family and friends for me is something I cherish, they are my biggest cheerleaders, but for those who don’t have that, don’t let it stop you, God will send you people to support you who may not be family or friends, when you are doing His work, you may gain a new “family.”
EM: Fill in the blank: In order to get different results you must have ________ and refuse ____________!
AS: In order to get different results you must have a purpose driven strategy and refuse to sell your soul!
EM: What does the future hold for Arian Simone?
AS: Love, Favor, more abundant life!
EM: Is there anything else you would like to add?
