Delegating responsibilities- Is process of assigning task according to skill, to achieve a common goal, fulfill a mission and maintain the vision as it relate to the assignment and purpose of the project. A person who delegated the work remains accountable for the outcome of the delegated work. So I am sure thought goes into who is assigned what task. Confidence in who is placed in certain positions to do the work is usually the foundation. Delegation empowers a subordinate to make decisions.
Rank identifies who is in charge—whom to look to for orders, guidance, and leadership. The Army has established a system of rank reflecting a person’s responsibilities and experience that operates through structures—from teams through battalions and larger units—in which people know their responsibilities to each other and their unit.
The task you receive could be because of your rank, recent accomplishments or success rate. Task could be handed to you as a test of your strength and ability to advance to the next rank. It could be to enforce your rank by completing a series of test, exams, assignments, and challenges that come along with displaying your rank honorably.
Are you a Four-Star General or a Staff Sergeant?
As a Sergeant, you may only be responsible for 4 -10 soldiers In a Squad, whereas a Four-Star General is a superior rank, responsible for 2-5 Corps, which are thousands of soldiers. As a Staff Sergeant, there are a number of things you will have to endure or accomplish before moving through the leadership and command ranks. By the same token, your responsibilities increase as a Four Star General and much more is require.
GOD’s Army: GOD will test our strength, ability and faith by delegating task that I call trials. GOD probably won’t give a Four-Star General the responsibilities of a Staff Sergeant and Vice Versa. When you have achieved Four Star status, you can be considered his toughest solider. He needs you in high places, so he will continue to adorn you with missions that you have been prepped for. When you were once a Staff Sergeant climbing your way to the top, you experienced tribulations that were preparing you for the ultimate take over, which is fulfilling your purpose. He was building you up to be the warrior it would take to fight against any war. GOD has a purpose for you and your life, but he has to build you to handle it. And likewise, you being chosen by Him to be a warrior means you will hurt, cry, be sick but you will not faint. He says he will never leave or forsake you. He has ordained you as his mighty, which will preserver. He has commissioned you, given you the trials that someone else was not able to handle or will not be able to handle, they are not ready to handle. He delegated accordingly. He delegates with a purpose!
The same goes in strength and conditioning in the armed forces. In boot camp, you are tasked with circuit training exercises that will build strength and endurance. If there is ever a time a solider will have to survive in the woods “in the field” for a long period of time, he has been taught those survival skills. He knows how to use the things that are there to guide him out of the woods. He knows how to care for wounds, he knows how to eat, and he can walk/run/swim for miles.
With respect to war and preparation of the Army who will stand the test, the first Chapter of The Art of War, titled Laying plans; Sun Tzu writes:
“The art of war is governed by five constant factors, to be taken into account in one’s deliberations, when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field. These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth; (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.
The MORAL LAW causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger”.
Tu Yu quotes Wang Tzu as saying: “Without constant practice, the officers will be nervous and undecided when mustering for battle; without constant practice, the general will be wavering and irresolute when the crisis is at hand.”
Sun Tzu continues: “HEAVEN signifies night and day, cold and heat, times and seasons.
EARTH comprises distances, great and small; danger and security; open ground and narrow passes; the chances of life and death.
The COMMANDER stands for the virtues of wisdom, sincerity, benevolence, courage and strictness”.
GOD prepares you for the next big thing. How many times have you heard someone say to you, “I don’t know how you do it” or “There’s no way I could go through that!” or “I wouldn’t know what to do.” Respectfully, this could be the Staff Sergeant talking to the Four-Star General. He does not know yet, what it takes. He does not know how to lay plans just yet, he has not built strength and endurance, he is not prepared to take on those responsibilities and therefore he may not be able to process what it takes to succeed on that level and ultimately, not capable of doing the job that the Warrior will do. Yet he is getting ready also. There is still a purpose for his life. We all have very similar but different lives. Some of us endure the pains and trials that others are completely oblivious to. This is because some things some of us are better equipped to take it on.
You cannot learn, grow or become a better at anything, even being a warrior, if you do not experience trials and tribulations. Things beyond your imagination, problems you feel like no one should have….You will be tested broke down and built back up through your trials. From that, you will rise from ashes; you will assemble courage at the core. You will become wise. This is what’s called the breakthrough. Have you ever heard someone say that your blessing is around the corner, you are so close to it. It’s the break point, just when you think you can’t do it. Trust that GOD will show up in you. There is a blessing in the lesson.
You may be facing what you perceive as your greatest challenge right now. That may be so, but for the moment, see it as the opportunity to advance through the ranks. You were chosen for that trial according to your skill and by the acknowledgement that you are the toughest and very capable of seeing it through. Know that there is a power behind the purpose. He’s promoting you! Accept your promotion! Move beyond your position into your purpose! He assigned rank and delegated to you for a reason.
