“I’m not here to teach you how to take a better selfie. I’m here to talk about Social Media Warfare.” – Brother Jesse Muhammad (4/11/15 – Chicago, IL)

History was made at the National Center of the Nation Of Islam in ways that could only be articulated as a modern technology in motion. In conjunction with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan speaking twice in a single day in Atlanta, Georgia, members of the mighty Farrakhan Twitter Army hosted The Teachings 2.0 Book and Social Media Warfare Tour featuring Brother Jesse Muhammad of Houston, Texas. Brother Jesse currently serves as the social media strategist for the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and is the liaison to the ever-growing Farrakhan Twitter Army.

The Social Media Warfare Seminar took place on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at The Salaam Restaurant located at 700 W. 79th Street in the heart of South Chicago.

The Teachings Tour weekend, hosted by Sisters Kenya, Shimah and Ayanna Muhammad, kicked off Friday evening at Sky Zone. For those who are unfamiliar, Sky Zone is an indoor trampoline amusement park. There were approximately twenty or more of the Chicago youth accompanying their honored guest, Brother Jesse. He and a few others such as Brothers Darryl, Samad, Tariq and Sisters Ayanna and Kenya entered into some righteous competition at the Sky Slam basketball trampoline station for a dunk contest.

All I have to say is Muslims are competitive even on trampolines! I’ve never laughed so hard in my life! Here are some photos from that night below that also include the trampoline dodge ball game!

The Teachings Tour & Social Media Warfare Seminar

On Saturday, April 11, The Teachings Tour and Social Media Warfare seminar, held in the distinguished Salaam Restaurant commenced at 4 pm.

Sister Kenya Muhammad, one of event organizers, gave a warm welcome to those in attendance and also served at the hostess introducing each speaker.

The seminar began with Halimah Nia Muhammad of Detroit, Michigan who presented on the “Power of Modesty”. Her opening words would set the tone for the entire program. “What we see on social media is not of God, so I come before you saying there is No God but Allah!”

Sister Halimah spoke against the morally depraved mainstream fashion trends and promoted the beauty of being a modest model for God. She elaborated on how the world’s definition of beauty has ill-effected women and young girls. She explained how it damages the self-esteem of a woman to attempt to measure up to the loose fashion trends of today.
“When you put your value in someone else’s hands, you’ll never be good enough”, she said. “Find different things that are beautiful about your soul to build self confidence”. She concluded with these words, “Minster Farrakhan says the MGT-GCC (Muslim Girls’ Training and General Civilization Class) are the models of the new civilization! Being a Covered Girl is not easy, but I pray to Allah to love what He loves!”
Sister Halimah closed her presentation with a live demonstration of how to piece together a modest outfit and how to accessorize it to showcase true beauty and poise.

The Salaam Ballroom was packed with many young faces, families, as well as a few of the Student Officials of Mosque Maryam.

The next presentation was a live performance from Cincinnati-based Hip Hop artist, Brother Michael 6X. He has been accompanying Brother Jesse on The Teachings Tour performing what has been affectionately called “The Teachings 2.0 anthem” that describes the contents of the Twitter Book and the power it contains. Brother Michael engaged the crowd with his masterful demonstration of righteous Hip Hop.

The Teachings 2.0: A Dedication to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan’s Twitter Book

Following the live performance was what everyone had been waiting for. The honored guest speaker, Brother Jesse Muhammad, and his presentation of the “Social Media Warfare” seminar.

Brother Jesse opened up thanking the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for his work, dedication and love in the Mission of resurrecting the spiritually dead. He also thanked the Student National Assistant to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, Brother Ishmael Muhammad, and his staff for the opportunity to bring The Teachings Tour to Chicago.

Brother Jesse began to give the backdrop of The Teachings Tour as well as the hashtag #AskFarrakhan.
He delved into The Supreme Wisdom lessons as it refers to The Lion seeking a way of out of the cage using modern equipment. “We think we’re going to attract these young people with what we used to do”, Brother Jesse said. “Most people are more comfortable with old problems than they are with new solutions”.
He presented a brilliant analogy of what it means to be out of step with time by analyzing the movie “I’m Gonna Get You Sucka“. A brother who was released from prison stepped out into society, after being locked away for many years, wearing bell-bottoms and platforms shoes with goldfish in the bottom. Many bore witness with that visual to the truth of how silly we can look, and more devastating, how ineffective we are when we are out of step with the time.

Brother Jesse began listing various statistics of those who use social media as well as the characteristics of a person who is addicted to their smartphone. “Do you reach for your phone even though it isn’t ringing”, he asked. “Do you think you hear your phone ringing even though it’s not on your hip”, he continued. As he surveyed the audience, more and more hands began to raise proving the point of not only how addicted society is to smartphones, but also how important social media is globally.

Brother Jesse educated and reminded the crowd to be mindful not to post too much information, especially sensitive information, over social media. He stated that the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said, “Social media should be used to facilitate the cause of friendship, the passing of knowledge, creating bonds and brotherly love”.

He shared how posting excess information actually led to a family being robbed. The thief was watching their timeline and knew they were not at home. “We should not be posting all of our comings and goings on social media”, he instructed. “All General Orders are in effect”. He closed this point by saying, “We were taught that when we get into trouble to nurse from our Holy Quran, not our Facebook wall”.

Brother Jesse opened up about how the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan was introduced to social media, how the hashtag #AskFarrakhan began and what the Minister saw in the power of social media relating to the Mission of the Nation Of Islam and the Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.
The entire room was captivated by how much Brother Jesse shared of his intimate meetings with Minister Farrakhan. He told the audience that during one single session he and Minister Farrakhan went nine hours where 300 hundred questions were answered. He shared how much the Minister loved feeding the people and is always excited to respond to them.

“If you don’t remember anything else today, remember these two words: Follow Farrakhan”, Brother Jesse said. He told the audience that he is a witness bearer to Minister Farrakhan and would not keep these gems to himself.
He continue with explaining how social media is a form of warfare and that the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is waging war in the name of Allah.”Social media is the main tactic God is using to facilitate the need for Justice”, he said. It was made very plain that Minister Farrakhan is about getting the Truth trending!
Brother Jesse discussed how The Teachings 2.0: Twitter Sayings of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, affectionately called The Twitter book, was created. Minister Farrakhan is utilizing this small, yet powerful, book as a weapon for the Battle in the Sky against this wicked world that is leading to the mental and moral destruction of our people. He spoke about how this book is breaking down barriers between generations as well as religions. He shared a story of a Christian woman who wrote the Minister that she was thoroughly enjoying the book and his words were appealing to her.
Brother Jesse closed his presentation by stating, “Minister Farrakhan is not using social media to take selfies. He’s using it to wage war”.

With excitement, the crowd stood to their feet to give a standing ovation. The energy within the walls of the Salaam Ballroom was electrifying! It was apparent that all who were within earshot of this engagement was turned on to information they either didn’t know or didn’t understand.

Soon after his closing words, Brother Jesse began taking questions from the audience.
Event organizers, Sisters Kenya and Shimah Muhammad thanked Brother Jesse for his time and for all he shared. Unbeknownst to him, a special surprise video presentation from family, friends and various members of the Farrakhan Twitter Army shared words of love and how Brother Jesse’s work has inspired them to be witness bearers on social media. A beautiful Farrakhan Twitter Army cake was prepared for the occasion as well. Needless to say, he was flabbergasted by these unexpected gifts and expression of love by the Chicago youth.

Afterwards, Brother Jesse and those in the audience took photos and what has become the famous Teachings Tour “Us-sie”.

Brother Jesse took time to sign personal copies of Twitter books and greet those he had only seen online.

Dinner was served and the re-broadcast of The Time and What Must Be Done  lecture series, delivered by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, was shown where attendees could apply what they learned in real time.
The entire event was atomic!

Sunday at Mosque Maryam

On Sunday, April 12 at Mosque Maryam, Brother Jesse was invited to share a few words before a live audience as well as everyone tuning in via webcast which is streamed world-wide!
He reiterated a few key points from the previous night, but also supplied much more. He spoke about being a witness bearer to a man who has been on the battle field for an entire Nation of people, standing up for Truth and fighting against injustice to see the oppressed free. He quoted words from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan in how he has too many weak witnesses, and that we all have a duty to tell the world what Minister Farrakhan has done for us personally. He spoke to the “silent witnesses” who just want to stand on the sideline and do absolutely nothing with what has been given to them.
The entire sanctuary was on the edge of their seats. They were not only moved by Brother Jesse’s words but by the Spirit in which he delivered his words. There was cheering, standing ovations, shouts of agreement and applauds. The force and power of his message was like a spiritual defibrillator, which is used to administer therapeutic doses of electrical energy to the heart, being applied to a person in need of the life and light of Minister Farrakhan and the Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. The effects could be witnessed at any range!
At the conclusion of the Sunday lecture, Brother Michael 6X, was invited by the Student National Assistant to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, Brother Ishmael Muhammad, to perform one of his Hip Hop pieces from the previous night. This, to my knowledge, has never been done before during a Sunday meeting, which spoke volumes.
Brother Michael 6X mounted the rostrum and introduced the entire world to what Hip Hop should look like and sound like! It was authentic, sharp, witty and inspiring! He did what a MC does best and that was move the crowd!
It was made clear at that very moment that a shift was taking place in how the Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad is Universal, Ever-expanding, Evolving and Growing by the orchestration of Almighty God!

On Monday, April 13, Brother Jesse and Brother Michael paid a highly anticipated visit to the students of  Muhammad University of Islam.

Testimonies from The Teachings Tour in Chicago, IL

“The Teachings Tour is an example of a humble servant of Allah.  Even having an exclusive access to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, Brother Jesse remains a humble servant, soldier in the cause of Allah.
His presentation allowed one to see the student and the humility of the greatest human being (Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan) on our planet as he was excited to learn from Brother Jesse and provide a platform in which he could display the gifts that Allah has deposited in him.
If all of us could learn this example of the Minister and be as humble and productive as Brother Jesse, we would be much further down the road.”
– Brother Jeffrey Muhammad, Student Assistant Minister

“I really enjoyed the seminar. I think it is very important in this age where social media is a dominant extracurricular activity, that we learn how to use it properly and in accordance with our Father,s work. A multitude of Believers agree that this book is a modern day Hadith, and we are so happy to have it.”
-Sister Shimah Muhammad, Event Organizer

“I just want to say how much I truly enjoyed the presentation that Brother Jesse shared with us here in Chicago. Not only  was the content vital, but because he made is so plain. We live in a world ran by technology and social media but sometimes we don’t use those tools in the most effective way, and Brother Jesse taught us just how to do that. As young people, it is important for us to understand how powerful we are, and how we can make a difference, and with Brother Jesse’s words, it goes to show that by using these social media platforms in the proper manner and representing properly, we can spread the teachings and the knowledge we have been blessed with and go get our people by the thousands. I can never thank Allah enough for Brother Jesse and using him as a vessel to do his work and uniting the Farrakhan Twitter army!”

-Ayanna Muhammad, Event Organizer

“Beginning to end, I thought the program was nothing short of amazing! Sis. Halimah did an excellent job in her presentation and I though everything she shared was absolutely helpful to the sisters in regards to modest fashion. Bro Michael as well! His song MeccaMedinah couldn’t have fit more perfect for the occasion being that Chicago/Detroit believers were in attendance. Lastly, Bro Jesse capped it off with an absolutely impactful presentation. So much was learned on my part and I honestly wish it was recorded so that I can watch it again and again. From the statistics and facts that he shared, to his bearing of witness to the love and the unmatched work effort of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. I thank Allah for Bro Jesse and the work that he doing to inspire us all throughout the Nation of Islam.”

-Brother Darryl Muhammad, Attendee

“I learned a lot from Brother Jesse during The Teachings Tour. There are so many creative & modern ways to spread the Teachings of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad worldwide. A few tweets & retweets can literally help to lead someone out of death & into life. I would love to see a documentary of Brother Jesse’s tour.”

-Brother Timothy 6X, Final Call Staff

“As Salaam Alaikum!

The Teachings 2.0 Book and Social Media tour was absolutely amazing! I seriously, thank Allah for Brother Jesse! He is showing us the seriousness and effectiveness of social media in this time period. He is showing us how we can use social media to uplift and bring awareness to people or degenerate them and degrade ourselves as well as the consequences that result in either choice. He is showing us the power we truly have as young people to influence each other, but even greater than that, he is spreading his testimony of the man so many of us love – The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. We think we know so much, and it’s not until those who have the blessing of being so close to him begin to tell their stories that we learn more. His testimony really increased my love for the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. His words on the Minister’s work ethic and love for the Mission was definitely a highlight for me. The tour inspired me to greatly increase my service to my Nation. It was a fun, informative and super inspiring event!”

– Sister Halimah Nia Muhammad, Presenter
