How to Recover from Emotional Pain (Part 1 of 3) – The Source

Ebony S. Muhammad (EM):  Many of us try to forget about our past, the painful events such as loss of a loved one or even abuse and molestation. We force ourselves to not think about it and may even believe we’ve done away with it or it’s forgotten. Yet it is still present.

The Hon. Minister Louis Farrakhan has introduced a tool to and for the Nation Of Islam and soon to the general public. Can you please share a little bit more about this tool?

Sonya Muhammad (Gold Seal Hubbard Dianetics Auditor) SM: Dianetics (greek dia, through, and nous, mind or soul) is the science of the mind. L. Ron Hubbard says, “Dianetics deletes all pain from a lifetime.  It is an organized body of knowledge. It leaves an individual with full memory, but without pain.” The auditor has developed a skill for both the handling of interpersonal relations, psychoses, neuroses, compulsions and repressions of kinds and classifications. He calls these aberrations, which means any deviation or departure from rationality.

EM: What exactly happens at the moment of physical and emotional pain?

SM: L.R. Hubbard states, “The “unconscious” mind is the only mind which is always conscious. When anesthetized as in an operation, unconscious, he may not be aware of what has taken place, but, Dianetics has discovered and can prove, everything which happened was fully and completely recorded. When a person to a greater or lesser degree is unconscious, silence is recommend, because the words spoken during these times have command power and are not evaluated by the mind, just recorded. The words in this recording, an engram, becomes reactivated by similar circumstances observed by the awake and conscious individual and the only information that the individual has of such action is his occasional perception that he is not acting rationally about one thing or another and cannot understand why.”

Let’s say a child is hit by a parent and the child, to a greater or lesser degree is unconscious and the parent says, “You are always messing things up and you can’t get anything right”. In the background, there is a dog barking outside, a dripping faucet and children are laughing outside.  Days later, the child is walking to school and hears a dog barking in someone’s backyard, he may pause and get a little nervous. He gets to school and children are laughing, he gets more nervous, not knowing why.

Two of the similar sounds that were recorded in the engram are reactivated and now his thoughts while doing his work are, you are always messing things up; you can’t get anything right, which affects his self confidence, because these words have command power.  This child maybe in chronic restimulation, because the route he goes to school always has the dog barking and there’s always children outside laughing when he gets to school.  So the child doesn’t do well in school, in addition to school, as an adult this would affect his concept of himself across all dynamics, (self, child/family, group and mankind). He decided to believe that he would always mess things up and so he will.  Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he”.

Dianetic processing would take the charge or emotion out of the initial incident with physical pain, the engram, so that the barking, laughing and words/phrases would not restimulate him or cannot be reactivated.
